Get well soon Jake The Snake; wrestling legend Roberts confirms he has cancer
One of our childhood idols announced at the weekend he has a cancerous tumour in his knee.
Just a few weeks ago, Jake 'The Snake' Roberts made a semi comeback to the WWE. After years in the wilderness, chiefly caused by his own addiction problems, Roberts appeared on an episode of RAW and his place in the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class was also confirmed by Jerry 'The King' Lawler.
But just as the 58-year-old was getting back in the game, he faces yet another personal battle. Yesterday, TMZ reported that Roberts has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his knee.
In typical Roberts style, he told TMZ that he would beat the disease. "If the devil can't defeat me, cancer doesn't stand a chance in hell! Pray for sick children who face this horrible disease 'cause The Snake will be just fine."
Roberts is scheduled to go under the knife tomorrow to have the tumour removed and the hope is that the growth will have been halted before it spreads.
Get well soon Jake.
