The Leinster and Ireland centre also discussed his retirement with The Irish Times’ Roisín Ingle.

Gordon D’Arcy says that he hopes to walk the Camino Trail to Santiago De Compostela when he finally retires from professional rugby with Leinster and Ireland.

The 34-year-old says that a number of friends have recommended the religious pilgrimage to him and it is “the one thing that I’m in negotiations with my wife (model Aoife Cogan) about.”

D’Arcy says that retirement is something he is thinking seriously about and that he’ll discuss it with both Leinster coach Matt O’Connor and Ireland coach Joe Schmidt.
