Have you seen the hurling glove Tommy Bowe will be wearing against Australia this weekend?

Tommy Bowe’s hand is bound to be a little tender when he faces the Aussies in Melbourne on Saturday after his Lazarus-like recovery from injury, but there’s nothing a good old hurling glove can’t fix.

Bowe’s tour looked to be over when he broke a bone in his hand playing against the Queensland Reds a few weeks back, but thanks to his dedication and the work of the Lions medical team, he has recovered remarkably quickly and will take his place on the wing in the second test against the Wallabies on Saturday.

The Ulster winger, pictured with Lions physio Prav Mathema, will obviously be keen to protect the affected hand and with that in mind, he’ll be wearing a hurling glove made by Cork-based company Mycro, who sent out the glove to Australia for Bowe’s use.

Those crafty Aussies will no doubt target Bowe’s hand upon seeing a glove that none of them will probably ever have set eyes on before, but if it can take the impact of a hurley slapped down on it or a sliotar rattled in its direction at full speed, it will be well able to cope with anything those wound-up Wallabies can hit it with.

Lovely hurlin’.
