English cricket star Craig Kieswetter has been hit for 90 after the twit tweeted a picture of himself driving 90mph.

The Somerset wicketkeeper and batsman tweeted the picture to his 3,300+ followers with the line ‘My view right now’, with the photo showing a first-person-view of behind the player’s steering wheel.

Unbeknownst to Kieswetter, however, the pic clearly showed that the 23-year-old’s speedometer was showing 90mph, just short of a century. In other words, he had not just accidentally shown that he was breaking the speed limit, but he had also tweeted while driving.

Not the smartest tweet Kieswetter will ever send…

Seemingly unaware to the severity of the gaffe, Kieswetter then tweeted: ‘Deleted last tweet. Haha.’

Unsurprisingly, road safety campaigners are livid at the player’s high-profile tweet, with Emily Moxon of UK group Brake telling the Daily Mail: ‘It is always extremely disappointing to see role models breaking speed limits because it undermines the critical message that speed kills.

Crash victims charity Road Peace also offered their thoughts, stating: “This is a dangerous speed. It’s inexcusable.”

Somerset police have, however, admitted that there is “insufficient evidence” to prosecute the Twenty20 World Cup winner for speeding.
