The Ireland starting XI for Georgia is in…

Carl Kinsella

Martin O’Neill has named his starting XI to face Georgia in today’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Georgia.

O’Neill has kept faith with Darren Randolph, and there are few surprises in the back four. Ciaran Clark starts after some stellar performances for Newcastle. Otherwise, O’Neill has gone with men he typically favours in Cyrus Christie, Shane Duffy and Stephen Ward.

Glenn Whelan starts the game as captain, and he’s joined in the middle of the park by Bournemouth ace Harry Arter.

Ireland are fielding an attacking XI with James McClean, Jon Walters and Shane Long all starting the game. Star of the side Robbie Brady also starts the game, though it’s not clear yet which role he’ll take up (sure he can do anything, anyways).

There’s no place in the starting side for Wes Hoolahan, nor Aston Villa star Conor Hourihane.

Kick-off is at 5pm. Does this side have enough to win it?
