This is going to be a crazy night.
MMA journalist and all around legend Ariel Helwani has always spoken kindly of Irish fans, and Irish people in general. He speaks of his time at UFC Fight Night extremely fondly, calling it one of the best UFC events he has attended. His experience last night will only strengthen his love of the Irish.
When recording his preview of the event, he made the decision to record in front of a group of rowdy Irish fans. The video lasts for seven minutes, and Helwani barely gets a word in. Just watch it, it’s pure gold.
Some of the gems from the video include Helwani politely trying to get everyone to quiet down, to no avail, which leads to one Irish fan shouting “Shut up t’fuck.” And Helwani stating “You have never seen a scene like this. New York has never seen a scene like this.”
Perhaps the highlight of the video is Helwani allowing the Irish fans to close out the video, with everyone of them bouncing up and down chanting “Who the fuck is Alvarez?” It is sure to be a great night.
