32 days to go until Euro 2012 and today we go back to a moment when Robbie Keane gave us hope, albeit for a brief moment.

Ireland had been abject in Croke Park against France as Anelka put Les Bleus 1-Nil ahead in our World Cup play-off for South Africa 2010.

No one expected or knew that Ireland could play like they did in the Stade De France. Ireland cast off the shackles and bombarded the French goal.

It was Ireland’s old guard of Keane and Duff who combined in the first half for a goal that put France even more on the back-foot than they were and provided a boost to the Irish fans who urged their side forward.

Duff, Keane and John O’Shea all had chances to put the match beyond doubt.

And then…

Well let’s just remember the Keane goal and forget the rest.

Today marks 32 days to go until the start of Euro 2012, so stick with us every day as we present another memorable Irish soccer moment.
