Snooker ace Jimmy White admits in his new autobiography that he went on a three-month crack binge following the 1984 world championship final.
At one point in his career, Jimmy White spent a whopping £10,000 (€12,800) per month on crack cocaine. Writing in his new autobiography, called Second Wind, the six-time world championship finalist says: “I’m lucky to be alive.”
White’s three-month crack binge, which totalled £32,000, began after he lost his first world championship final to Steve Davis at the Sheffield Crucible back in 1984.
Speaking to The Sun ahead of the book’s launch, White said: “I know drugs probably cost me ten world titles,” and “Crack is the worst drug ever.”
White describes the £32,000 as “a massive amount back then,” but he goes on to say it was “the kind of sum I could burn in five minutes flat at the racetrack”. The tell-all autobiography, Second Wind, goes on sale this coming Friday.
