To many, this represents the World Cup Losers Final, but not us here in JOE. We are licking our lips ahead of Brazil and the Netherlands.

To many, this represents the World Cup Losers Final, but not us here in JOE. We are licking our lips ahead of Brazil and the Netherlands.

We’ve just had two semi-finals of contrasting entertainment. We had the goal-fest and humiliation of Brazil by Germany followed by the goal-famine in the Argentina v Netherlands game. Surely, with the pressure and shackles off, we will see another game with plenty of goals and chances?

Brazil v Netherlands

Call us hopelessly optimistic, but we fancy goals, goals and more goals in this one. Both teams will probably field the players who didn’t feature much in the tournament so far, so you’d imagine without Fred, Hulk and David Luiz, Brazil might actually look a better team. If you’re like us and you fancy a goal-fest, the odds for more than 4.5 goals is a tasty looking 31/10 and over 5.5 goals is there at 7/1

We don’t think Brazil will suffer another humiliation, but we don’t quite fancy them enough to win, so the draw at 13/5 looks good to us. If you’re taking a punt on first goalscorer, we reckon Van Gaal is definitely going to start with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and he is available at 7/1 to be first scorer.

If you’re thinking that Brazil will open the scoring, the best bets on offer are the trio of Bernard, Willian and Hernanes who are each available at 12/1. The correct score market is a very popular one and seeing as we fancy a high scoring draw, the 3-3 draw at 33/1 looks like a punt worth taking.

If you fancy a bit of a novelty bet of sorts, we think this one could be the one for you. Tim Krul was the Dutch hero in the penalty shoot-out against Costa Rica and we fancy that he will start the game against Brazil. So, with that in mind, for Brazil to miss a penalty during the match, the price is set at 19/1.
