JOE’s favourite #fishyfootballers: The World Cup edition

To celebrate our partnership with Bird Eye’s Big Snack, we’ve revisited one of our favourite ever footballer hashtags and given it a special World Cup revamp.

No more than any office in the country, we like a good laugh of a Friday afternoon in JOE Towers and to help us do just that, we’ve been inventing some footballer hashtags and asking our readers to come up with some of their best suggestions on Twitter.

By far one of the most popular hashtags proved to be a recent one about #fishyfootballers and in conjunction with Birds Eye fish finger sambos, which are the ultimate halftime snack for this World Cup, we thought we’d revisit it and update it with a special World Cup edition featuring eleven of the best fishy players that have been strutting their stuff on the biggest stage in Brazil.

In fairness, a player with a leap like Salmon Khedira is likely to provide all sorts of problems from set-pieces, Nikica Jellyfish will be on hand to provide the necessary sting in attack, while any team would find it hard to get the ball past the bulky presence of Fernando Mussel-era between the sticks.

Without further ado then, cast your eyes over the World Cup edition of #fishyfootballers; we think you’ll agree, they’re quite a catch. Of course, we’d like to hear your own suggestions, so cast the net far and wide, reel in your best efforts and send them our way on Twitter with the hashtag #fishyfootballers.
