As opening weekends of the Premier League go, this one wasn’t bad at all, with title challengers Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all flexing their muscles, while Arsenal were *hyperbole alert* plunged into crisis already after a 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa that had angry fans flashing their puny A4-sized banners in disgust.

Host Adrian Collins is joined by Conor Heneghan and Declan Whooley to talk about all the goings on in the Premier League and a few funny football stories from around the globe, while they also forecast what will happen in the ongoing summer transfer sagas that have gone for what has felt like the length of an entire season at this stage.

The lads also discuss events in the opening weekend of La Liga and use the unfortunate injury to Xabi Alonso to discuss their admiration for a man who, with the possible exception of beard-stroking vineyard owning Andrea Pirlo, might just be the coolest footballer on the planet.
