Dublin could be getting a designated fanzone for Sunday’s clash with France

Labour leader Brendan Howlin has asked the government to set up a designated fanzone for Ireland's Sunday showdown with France.

There weren't too many people in Ireland who'd have staked their house on the boys in green overcoming Italy last night to progress to the last 16 of Euro 2016, but Robbie Brady went and proved many of the doubters wrong. Now, Howlin argues, there's an onus on the government to provide a designated space for Ireland fans to gather and watch Ireland's first knock-out game in a major tournament since 2002. He appears to have had some luck as well, with Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald conceding that something similar was done for the results of the marriage referendum. https://twitter.com/KevDoyle_Indo/status/745945755920306176 Fingers crossed they can get this done in time!
