Ireland has responded vociferously to the Japanese success, madly celebrating their win like it was our own and now buying out every scrap of Japanese rugby gear from Life Style Sports.
The Japanese jersey if now Life Style Sports’ third bestselling jersey after Ireland’s own and the iconic All Blacks jerseys.
Perhaps the most amazing thing about all this was that prior to Japan’s win, the sportswear retailer had sold only ONE Japan jersey. 48 hours after the win, they were all gone.
Ireland loves an underdog, but we love a bandwagon more.
