LISTEN: The commentary from the end of Connacht’s historic win last night is glorious

Alan Loughnane

Relive the moment on Galway Bay FM where the westerners secured their place in the Guinness Pro 12 final.

Some fairytales just don’t want to end whether it be Leicester City in the Premier League or high flying Connacht in the Guinness Pro 12.

Pat Lam’s troops booked their place in the Pro 12 final in Edinburgh this Saturday against Leinster with a 16-10 victory over the Glasgow Warriors in the Sportsground.

Bundee Aki once again put in a massive shift in the centre and there were strong performances from AJ MacGinty, Aly Muldowney and veteran John Muldoon.

People around the province were understandably delighted with their team’s achievement as they frantically searched for cheap flights across to next weekend’s final.

The tension in the match reached almost unbearable levels as the horde of Connacht fans cheered on their team in the closing minutes of the game.

Connacht had been reduced to 14 men for the final ten minutes as Rodney Ah You was sent to the bin for a high tackle on Stuart Hogg.

You can relive the final moments of the game here through the commentary of Galway Bay FM’s Rob Murphy and Joe Healy who struggle to contain their excitement.

This is great listening…
