Strong words here.
What a difference a year can make. At the end of last season, Liverpool finished second in the table on 84 points after pushing Man City extremely close in the title race.
This season though, Rodgers’ men have looked a shell of the side that came so close to ending their long wait for the title after finishing the season 22 points worse off.
Liverpool’s miserable season ended in the most disappointing way yesterday as they conceded six goals for the very first time in 52 years during their 6-1 defeat at Stoke.
Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher took to Twitter after the match and he didn’t hold back in his criticism.
Embarrassing day for all connected with Lfc 6-1 is not acceptable. Not seen anything but my son left at half time so it must've been bad!!

On the plus side, Carragher also seemed to applaud something that’s one of this writers biggest gripes with the modern game, players refusing to celebrate against their former side.
Charlie Adam & Peter Crouch celebrated today when scoring against their former club. Well done the two of you!
