Liverpool look set to launch a shock bid to bring Steven Gerrard back to Anfield

We go again?

We go again?

I’m beginning to think that all ‘major’ signings by MLS clubs have the same clause inserted into their contract. It probably states “I hereby sign for your club with one condition, whenever I get a chance to go back and play in Europe, I’m allowed to do so at the first chance”.

It seems that Steven Gerarrd might be about to clock up those Transatlantic air-miles, just like David Beckham, Robbie Keane and Frank Lampard did , according to The Independent.

They’ve exclusively revealed that  Jürgen Klopp has held positive talks with the Liverpool legend with a view to Stevie G rejoining the club that he left last summer after 17 years at Anfield.

It’s believed that the German has already had plenty of telephone conversations with the Liverpool icon, mainly with a view to Gerrard initially training with the side at Melwood over the winter, but this is seen as an inevitable step towards the midfielder putting on the famous red jersey once again.

The LA Galaxy midfielder is expected to arrive in London this morning and according to the paper “he has missed Liverpool acutely as well as the cut and thrust of the Premier League – a level at which he believes he can still have an impact.”.

The Reds icon should be in the stands to watch his former club take on Crystal Palace at the weekend and he’ll formally meet Klopp for the first time with a view to ironing out some details.

What do you think of this Liverpool fans? Would you be happy to see Stevie G back at the club or would he harm any chances for Klopp developing a new style and identity for the side?
