Manchester United fans won’t want to read these comments from Zlatan Ibrahimovic about a move

Well that's that then

Well that’s that then.

Hands up if you haven’t been linked with the centre-forward role at Manchester United? Louis Van Gaal’s cryptic comment that the club were looking for a new striker has caused journalists to speculate on who might be arriving as lots of players have been linked with a move.

PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was one of the bigger names suggested but it seems that the Swede isn’t on good terms with LVG after he described their relationship at Ajax as “not good”.

Southampton v Manchester United - Premier League

The 33-year-old was speaking with Sports Illustrated where he talked about the time that he spent at Ajax, the Dutchman was technical director while Koeman was manager, and Zlatan has said the following about their relationship, “no, that’s not good, He was a director in Ajax, and the way he is working is not the way I work.”

United fans might still dare to Zlatan though, especially considering his tendency to change clubs more times than his own socks, and he left the door slightly open by saying, “at the end, I think he is professional and I am professional. Whoever I work with, I never had this kind of problems, because at the end I need to do my job, he needs to do his job. And I think a lot of fights would happen, but that’s something I like”.

Call me cynical but I see this situation playing out with Ibra getting beaucoup d’argent from a new contract (that’s shed loads of cash between me and you).

C’est la vie.
