VIDEO: Martin O’Neill talks about his favourite viral moment of the Irish fans at Euro 2016

Martin O'Neill

Ireland’s manager was full of praise for our supporters.

Every single Irish supporter would love to be able to say that they’re looking forward to a quarter-final meeting against either England or Iceland in Paris but the reality is that our boys in green will be watching the remainder of the tournament from their homes.

France may have ended our Euro 2016 dream but the Irish players and supporters have been an absolute credit to the nation. The comforting scenes at the Stade de Lyon after France’s 2-1 victory offered further proof that there’s a unique bond between the Irish team and the fans.

This point has been further emphasised by Martin O’Neill during his final press conference in France because the Derryman went out of his way to praise the behaviour of every single supporter of the boys in green.

The Irish manager also picked his favourite viral moment involving Irish supporters at Euro 2016 and it’s definitely one that we approve of. Ok, we might be slightly biased because it was exclusively sent into JOE but we’re not going to argue with O’Neill.

In case you missed the story, here’s the world’s most popular nun.
