Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has insulted Jürgen Klopp on social media

Paul Moore

He’s not leaving on good terms.

Martin Skrtel had a fine European Championships for Slovakia with the standout performance coming in their 0-0 draw with England. Liverpool fans must have thought that they were looking at a completely different player in that match though because the centre-half has been calamitous during Jürgen Klopp brief tenure. Remember his game against Watford?

This being said, the Slovakian has been a fine servant to Liverpool since arriving from Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2008. His time at Anfield is drawing to a close with an expected £5.5m transfer to Fenerbahce on the horizon.

Empire of the Kop are reporting that the defender looks set to leave Liverpool on very bad terms though after they discovered some disparaging remarks that Skrtel made about Klopp on Instagram.

One of Skrtel’s friends posted a photo of the pair on social media along with a host of insulting hashtags in relation to Klopp. Here’s the post (since deleted) along with a translation of the conversation between the pair.

Skrtel

When translated from Slovakian, the first hashtag reportedly reads as “KloppIsAD*ckhead” which is followed by #KloppJeKKT – short for ‘KloppJeKokot’, the Slovakian slang term for ‘d*ckhead’ or ‘d*ck’.

Skrtel is responsible for the comment below these hashtags and he wrote “the last hashtag is top”. Skrtel’s friend then replies by saying “Hope Jurgen won’t see it”, to which Skrtel answers “Hope he does!”

Not the best way to leave a club after eight years of service.
