Mayo's Aidan O'Shea: Sky money has no chance of filtering down to the players
Mayo star Aidan O’Shea has taken a pop at the GAA over their deal with Sky Sports to show Championship matches from this June onwards, claiming none of the money from the TV agreement will filter down to the players.
While the Breaffy clubman admits that the deal is a good one from a promotional point of view, with a lot of people overseas getting better access to the hurling and football championship matches, he feels that the players will not feel the benefit of any increased revenue.
SKY deal is very positive from a coverage & promotional point of view. I think it will bring coverage of our Games to a new level.

Rte will be under pressure to improve I would say. I'd say sky production will leave them In their wake.

The GAA insist that the money coming in from Sky is just a fraction of their overall TV revenue.
The deal will see the channel show 14 matches exclusively, including two All-Ireland football quarter-finals involving the Leinster and Ulster champions.
The GAA has taken in approximately €10m over the course of the last three years of its three-year deal, with the Sky contract said to be worth between €1.5m and €2m in total, according to the Irish Independent.
