As the Formula 1 season wraps up, the lads in McLaren set their eyes firmly on the final prize of 2011, at Interlagos in Brazil.

Both Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton are looking forward to the end of the racing season, for some well-deserved time off no doubt. However, Jenson can’t take his foot off the gas just yet, as he enters the race just 10 points ahead of his closest rival Fernando Alonso.

Both Jenson and Alonso are fighting it out for second place in the Driver’s Championship (in case you’re not up to scratch on all things Formula 1, Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel ran away with the Driver’s Championship finishing over 100 points ahead of Jenson).

‘Ah you know, winning the last race of the year is always a very special thing and also Brazil. Sao Paulo is a very special track, there’s a lot of history there. I personally have struggled to qualify well there in the past,’ Jenson told Sky News.

‘Interlagos circuit it’s quite flowing, you know it’s a proper old school track, it’s like Suzuka, it’s like Spa, very flowing and I think that’s what we love as drivers.’

Hamilton on the other hand, who had a less than spectacular season for his standards (let’s not blame Nicole Scherzinger) said, “Brazil is a circuit that I’ve never won at, and it’s a circuit I’ve been dying to win, it’s one of the special historic circuits. It’s fantastic to drive, great climate, beautiful country and very, very passionate fans.”

Don’t forget to Sky+ the Brazilian Grand Prix, which starts at 3 pm this Sunday on BBC1. God only knows what God-awful shirt Eddie Jordan will be wearing this time – all the more reason to tune in.
