Monaghan native wins almost €250,000 from a mere €1 accumulator bet

If you live in Monaghan and your neighbour has a new Ferrari then you might want to chance asking them for a fiver…

One of JOE’s frequent weekend rituals involves a trip to the local bookies, however, we’re not entirely welcome anymore because we usually win our accumulator bet. *Cough, cough*.

JOE is delighted to say that we are now officially the second luckiest people in Ireland, because a Monaghan native has just won almost a quarter of a million euro after their ‘ten-fold Win-Draw-Win and both teams to score accumulator bet’ came in at odds of 245,668/1.

Every single sports fan in the country was on edge this weekend over the weekend considering the epic match at the Aviva and some nervy Premier League games but we can’t even imagine the squeakiness of this Monaghan gamblers bum.

On Friday night, Victor Sanchez Mata scored a late goal for Espanyol against Bilbao to keep their bet alive while this person from the Farney will probably want to kiss Ezequiel Lavezzi after his last minute winner gave PSG an dramatic win against Metz.

Saturday’s games went off without a hitch, but Sunday was an entirely different proposition.

It took Twente 80-mins to break the resistance of Pec Zwolle while Marseille had to wait until the 85th minute to take the lead against Bordeaux, thanks to striker Andre-Pierre Gignac, before they added a third goal along with a nice little €245,668 into this persons pocket.

So, pints?
