Big news from the Farney County this afternoon.
You may remember a few weeks ago when we brought you the news that an unnamed Monaghan footballer had tested positive for steroid abuse.
The GAA and the Irish Sports Council have today confirmed that Thomas Connolly was the man that tested positive for this doping violation.
The punishment has just been announced and Connolly has been banned for two years.
The ban comes into effect from March 18th but the length was reduced from the standard period of four years due to the inquiry’s belief that his use of the banned substance Stanozolol was not intentional.
