Newcastle United have terminated the contract of winger Hatem Ben Arfa with immediate effect.
The one time Toon hero dropped out of favour last season due to his lack of work rate, and failed to make an impact on loan at Hull City.
The 27-year-old is now expected to move to Nice on a full-time deal.
A statement reads:
Newcastle United can today confirm that Hatem Ben Arfa and the Club have reached an agreement to terminate the contract between both parties with immediate effect by mutual consent.
Newcastle United wishes Hatem all the best for his future.
