Exciting flyweight Paddy ‘The Hooligan’ Holohan (11-1) is set to join up with teammate Conor McGregor on his Fight Night card in Boston, meaning that the Irish takeover is set to continue.

Holohan will take on American veteran Shane Howell at UFC Fight Night: McGregor v Siver on January 18 in what is sure to be an exciting flyweight match-up between two of the tallest fighters in the division.

On accepting the fight, Holohan said: “I’m so happy to be a part of the UFC card in Boston. We are going to recreate the same atmosphere we had in Dublin; it’ll be Dublin in Boston.”

“As I always say to the fans, I’m one of them and I know with the Boston crowd it will be the same, like home away from home. I know I’m the job to start that party over in Boston.”

We are really looking forward to the card on January 18 next year, with Conor McGregor taking on Dennis Siver in the headline event. But that is not the only Irish interest on the card with Antrim’s lightweight Norman Parke also facing off against Jorge Masvidal.

Holohan will be hoping to improve on his (1-1) record in the UFC and bounce back from his disappointing defeat to Chris Kelades at UFC Fight Night Canada. We’re sure he can and we will be waiting up until the wee hours of the morning to watch him double his wins in the UFC.
