Darts legend Phil Taylor and the rest of the gang from McCoy’s Premier League Darts – which, don’t forget, visits Dublin for the first time on Thursday week, March 22 – are getting together to record a charity single.

Taylor, Adrian Lewis, Kevin Painter, Simon Whitlock, Raymond van Barneveld, Gary Anderson, Andy Hamilton and James Wade – some or all of whom are bound to be horrendously bad singers – will team up with Chas, of Chas and Dave fame to record a track in aid of the Haven House Children’s Hospice in Essex.

Not only that, but this unique eight-strong choir will perform the tune live on stage on finals night of the McCoy’s Premier League Darts season at the O2 in London on Thursday 17 May before it gets the worldwide release on iTunes.

“It’s a brilliant tune, really catchy, and I’m sure when people hear the song they’ll be singing along like we’ve all been,” said Taylor.

And what’s this little ditty going to be called? Well, “Got my tickets to the darts”, of course.

Speaking of which, if you want to get your tickets to the darts we’re running a couple of fantastic competitions at the moment – the first of those you can enter on JOE here, while the second will take place with a real life (Velcro) dartboard on Dublin’s Grafton Street this coming Tuesday (13 March) between 11am and 2pm, so keep your eyes peeled for more on that.

In the McCoy’s Premier League Darts, meanwhile, Taylor whacked defending champion Gary Anderson 8-1 on Thursday night while there were also wins for Simon Whitlock (over struggling double world champ Adrian Lewis), Kevin Painter and James Wade.

Thursday’s McCoy’s Premier League Darts results:

Phil Taylor 8-1 Gary Anderson
Simon Whitlock 8-4 Adrian Lewis
Kevin Painter 8-5 Andy Hamilton
James Wade 8-6 Raymond van Barneveld
