Andy Murray warmed up for Wimbledon with an impressive victory at the Queens Club, though according to the BBC, he may have got more than he bargained for in victory.
The 26 year-old has been dogged by injuries of late but wrapped up his third success at the venue when beat Croatian fifth seed Marin Cilic 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 before he sets his sights on ending Britain’s 75-year wait for a male winner of the singles’ title at the All England Club. You may hear that line trotted out extensively when Wimbledon gets underway next week, but the world number two has conceded that the tournament has left him a little jaded, yet satisfied.
However, victory may have given him more than he had anticipated judging by the unfortunate BBC title that appeared on the app a little differently to the website.
Hat-tip The Poke
We are awaiting confirmation from the Queen that she has given the green light for the winner’s prize.
