Welshman came off a bit worse though.
With a new Six Nations campaign only days away from starting, physios from the respective countries are probably clearing their schedules right now and resigning themselves to the fact that they’re going to be pretty busy over the coming weeks.
We expect to see collisions, tackles and injuries aplenty as Ireland bid to make it three championships in a row but one man that knows the toil and pain that your body goes through during a Six Nations campaign is Ireland’s record try scorer Brian O’Driscoll.
Cast your mind back to the ’14 competition as Wales arrived in Dublin with all eyes on the apparent ‘grudge’ meeting between O’Driscoll and Lions coach Warren Gatland. Ireland comfortably won the game by 26-9 but our captain might also remember the match more vividly because he was on the receiving end of this thundering tackle by Scott Williams – the Welshman injured his shoulder in the process and was forced off.
BOD has treated us all to a Throwback Thursday snap of the damage that the hit did after he landed on his hoop. Take a look.
Fair play to the Scarlets centre because his reply to BOD’s tweet is class.
Never been in a car crash but that can't have been far off one!! Came off second best though…… https://t.co/TULQp0TPQn
