Great Britain’s Christine Ohuruogu took gold tonight in the women’s 400m at the World Championships in Moscow, but the finish couldn’t have been much closer.
Six years on from her first gold medal at the World Championships, the Great Britain captain added a second with her time of 49.41 seconds also claimed a British record time in the event.
However it was an incredibly close finish, with Amantle Montsho looking more likely to claim gold coming down the closing straight until Ohuruogu took victory right at the death.
Neck and neck at the finish
That final dip meant the Ohuruogu took first place by an incredible four thousandths of a second. Fine margins indeed as the photo-finish illustrates.
