Only Murders season 4

The gang are going to Hollywood.

The trailer for the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building has dropped, revealing some absolutely stacked new casting additions.

The hit Disney+ show will return on August 27, and will see Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) return once again but this time they’re getting the Hollywood treatment.

In the trailer, which dropped on Tuesday, we see Mabel reveal the news that a major Hollywood studio is looking to make a movie based on their podcast.

In what the trailer claims as its “starriest season yet”, we see a whole bunch of big names appearing in the short clip.

It reveals Melissa McCarthy, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani and Richard Kind all making their debut on the show.

They will be joined by series regulars Jane Lynch, Michael Cyril Creighton and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, as well as last season’s star Meryl Streep.

The end of season three ended on another big cliffhanger, as the series tends to do, with Charles’ body double Sazz (Lynch) being murdered.

The new season will focus on the three amateur detectives trying to get to the bottom of who killed Sazz, as well as the reason behind it – and if they were actually aiming to kill Charles.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming new season, showrunner John Hoffman said that the theme of season four will be consequences.

“I think the idea of what you create is a thing you put out to the world, and sometimes you can’t be prepared for the repercussions of what potentially the world does with your thing, and how they feel about it,” he said told the outlet.

“That’s a challenging line to walk, and sometimes you have to face it in that way. So, the podcast and everything else that’s happened, and what it all means, and what it could have been meaning all along.

“That’s a really interesting world to look at for these three who stepped in that way.”

While we’re still a few months away from season four, now is the perfect time to catch up on all of the episodes of Only Murders in the Building on Disney+.
