Industry, widely considered to be one of the best shows on TV (if not the best), has just been made available to stream in the Republic of Ireland for the first time.
Having aired on HBO in the US and BBC One in the UK and Ireland, the financial thriller/drama series begins by following a group of employees working at Pierpoint & Co, a prestigious investment bank in London.
As the job involves dealing with the immensely wealthy and moving around millions of pounds every day, it is extremely stressful and cutthroat, leading many to turn to non-stop partying, drinking and drugs to unwind.
It isn't long, however, before this workplace culture takes a toll on those involved.
Created by former bankers Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, Industry first premiered in 2020.
The show's vast ensemble cast is led by Myha'la (They Will Kill You) and Marisa Abela (Back to Black), alongside David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus), Harry Lawtey (Joker 2), Ken Leung (Project Hail Mary) and Kit Harrington (Brimstone).
Over its first four seasons (a fifth, final batch of episodes is on the way), the series has been critically acclaimed and has garnered a hugely devoted cult fan base.
This is thanks to the show's authentically nail-biting workplace scenes, its ambitious blend of intricate and interweaving plot-lines, its fearless performances, its always stylish direction, and its exploration of a variety of modern-day social issues.
Sadly, as Ireland does not have access to the BBC iPlayer, Irish fans of Industry had to tune in to or record the series as it aired or risk missing it entirely.
With the introduction of HBO Max in Ireland last week (included as part of the service NOW), this has all changed.
The first three seasons of Industry have finally been made available to stream in Ireland through HBO Max and NOW.
