There’s some great people out there…
Westmeath footballer Ray Connellan suffered an extremely unfortunate leg break against Dublin in the Leinster Senior Football Final earlier this month.
The news was even more heartbreaking for Connellan who had reportedly been offered a contract by AFL side St Kilda in Australia, but had yet to put pen to paper on the deal.
Following the injury, an unnamed GAA supporter got in touch with someone who knows Connellan named “Ben”, and wrote this lovely message.
In it, the supporter wishes the Westmeath star well and asks them to pass on a sum of money to help him with his rehabilitation.
There really are some lovely people in the world…
There's a lot of very decent people out there. This random supporter of GAA being one of them. Incredible gesture pic.twitter.com/qOB934vdt0
