Happy birthday to Charlie O’Leary, 91 years young.
We’ve watched our VHS copies of Ireland’s matches at Euro ’88, Italia ’90 and USA ’94 so many times now that the tapes are completely worn out.
Maybe we should just buy them on DVD?
Charlie O’Leary was the former kit-man for the Boys in Green during this golden period for Irish football and he’s one of the most recognisable faces from Jack Charlton’s backroom team.
JOE reader Louise Colgan was asked to bake the cake for O’Leary’s most recent nameday and we absolutely love what she did.
We would almost feel guilty cutting this, then again it’s cake. Mmm cake.
