Brace yourselves football fans because it seems that there’s a new transfer saga in town.
While previous summers saw the names of Ronaldo, Fabregas, Bale and Suarez all use up more ink than a million copies of the bible, it seems that Raheem Sterling’s contract will be the new talk of Fleet Street.
The Liverpool attacker has recently decided to delay making any decision about his future at Anfield after the club made him an 100 grand-a-week offer.
Sterling is clearly more explosive and dynamic than Ireland’s combative but reliable Jon Walters, however, the Stoke City man has had some fun over the ‘Sterling saga’.
Walters has scored more goals in the league than the England international this season, as pointed out by The Mail, and he was quick to point this out on Twitter.
If Walters ultimately helps Ireland qualify for Euro 2016 then we think he’s worth every cent of this cheeky demand.
