Pic: Liam Gallagher puts his support behind the Mayo for Sam campaign at Knock Airport

"Lately, did you ever feel the pain?"

“Lately, did you ever feel the pain?”

Whatever county you support, there’s always a few things about the football championship that you’re destined to see and hear as it enters the business end of the season.

For example; 1) Kerry always turn into a different beast as soon as the road to Croker gets closer , 2) Dublin haven’t had a decent test yet and 3) the ‘Mayo for Sam’ campaign will grow even louder.

Some might say that the Connacht champions don’t stand a chance of breaking their hoodoo this year. D’you know what I mean?

Former Oasis and Beady Eye singer Liam Gallagher was in Knock Airport recently and he seems to think that by now, Mayo should’ve somehow realized what they gotta do, as he threw his support behind his families native county.

Knowing Mayo’s luck in the Championship, the singer will probably have to live forever in order to see them win an All-Ireland title. Apologies for that remark, please don’t look back in anger at me for that one.
