“For services to winning matches.”
Everyone knows by now that the Paddy Power Twitter account is touched by a bit of genius, but this new publicity stunt is a whole new level of comedy.
Previously we saw them unveil Fergie and David Moyes statues around Old Trafford and Anfield, but now they have paid homage to Donegal legend Jim McGuinness with a 12-foot tall statue…
A spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “Now that Jim McGuinness has his very own statue it’s not just looks and god-like powers that he has in common with the son of the almighty. Jesus Christ was a great lad but I doubt he’d have managed to get Donegal to two All-Ireland finals and their fans will be hoping that Jim has one more miracle in his back pocket to ensure his sainthood in the hills.”
Bask in his glory…
