Today was always going to be an emotional day for Munster icon Ronan O’Gara as he aims to beat the team that will forever be associated with his superb career.
On the field, Rassie Erasmus’ side resume their Champions Cup campaign this afternoon as the men in red take travel to Paris to take on Racing 92 in their rescheduled round 1 encounter at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir.
As you will sadly remember, the tragic news of Anthony Foley’s passing tragically coincided with the scheduled meeting of these two teams a few months ago.
As the tragic news filtered through, Munster supporters fond solace and comfort with those around them as rugby supporters, both Irish and French, remembered Axel.

Given that O’Gara knew Foley better than most, he was always going to remember his close friend and teammate. Today’s match is particularly poignant for O’Gara and he has honoured his friend in the best way possible.
