In case you hadn’t noticed, beards seem to be very much de riguer these days and there are some brilliant ones currently in evidence in sporting circles at the moment, from Conor McGregor’s facial fluff to the one sported by Zach Tuohy during the International Rules at the weekend, while Gordon D’Arcy’s also deserves a mention. Although all worthy efforts, all of those mentioned above pale in comparison to the beard sported by a fan spotted at a pre-season basketball game between the Washington Wizards and the Cleveland Cavaliers in Cincinatti last night, local man Garey Faulkner.

In case you’re wondering, yes that it is a net that Garey has somehow attached to his already magnificent beard and as was evident from his Twitter account, it certainly proved something of a magnet for the ladies.

  As we discovered this morning, this isn’t the first time that Garey has attracted the headlines for his facial hair, having toyed with a number of styles in the past, including wrapping a six-pack of beer up in what must be a unbelievably strong beard when meeting Andy Dalton of his beloved NFL outfit Cincinatti Bengals earlier this year.
