Pic: You know there’s an All-Ireland Final coming up when some Donegal players are getting a helicopter to training

Wonder if they get mileage expenses back for this?

Wonder if they get mileage expenses back for this?

With just over two weeks to go until the All-Ireland Final with Kerry, Donegal players can’t afford to miss a single training session between now and the big day and the Donegal County Board went to great lengths to ensure that everyone would be in attendance in Ballybofey last night.

According to Chris McNulty of the Donegal News, a helicopter was provided for three Donegal players based in Dublin so they wouldn’t miss last night’s session and it isn’t the first time that such a service has been laid on for Jim McGuinness’ men.

Travelling to training in such style might have been a novelty for the players involved but from what we’ve heard about McGuinness’ training sessions, they were probably brought back down to earth metaphorically as well as literally pretty quickly after their arrival.

It seems as far as McGuinness and Donegal are concerned they’re going to leave no stone unturned in their quest to land a second All-Ireland title in three years; where they’re going, they don’t need roads.
