PICS: Dublin residents play brilliant prank on their Mayo neighbour ahead of All-Ireland

We’d love to live in this area…

It’s ticking ever closer to throw in between Mayo and Dublin in the All-Ireland final in what many people are hoping will be one of the games of the season.

It will be Mayo’s 10th game of the Championship following  a series of replays against Roscommon and Kerry, as well as a trip through the backdoor.

Mayo fans are desperately hoping that this will be their year. That they will finally make that final step after so many years of heartbreak. We guess we’ll know come half five on Sunday on that front.

Siobhan Tighe is a Mayo woman living in Dublin city, in an area where she says there’s a wonderful community feel.

As the only Mayo person on the avenue, her house sticks out like a sore thumb during the football season when the house is adorned with red and green flags to support her county and she receives some light-hearted jibes from her neighbours.

Speaking with JOE, Siobhan said: “Last year on All-Ireland Final day morning, my neighbour Mary knocks on my door and says ‘On behalf of the residents on the street we’d like to make a complaint regarding the Mayo bunting.'”

But this year, her neighbours have taken the pranks up to another level.

Siobhan returned home from work to find that her front door had been painted the Dublin colours and as luck with have it, she lives in number 16, so you can probably guess what they did.
