Raheem Sterling’s agent has called Jamie Carragher “a knob”

This is strong

Jamie won’t like this.

Jamie Carragher had his say on the Raheem Sterling situation on Monday Night Football earlier this week.

The Sky Sports pundit said the 20-year-old should “shut up and keep his head down” and he also suggested the player is being badly advised.

Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward responded in the London Evening Standard and he didn’t mince his words

“Carragher is a knob. Everybody knows it. Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players – none of them things matter to me. It is not relevant.”

Ward also commented on Sterling’s future and it doesn’t make for good reading if you were hoping the player would stay at Anfield.

“I don’t care about the PR of the club and the club situation. I don’t care. He is definitely not signing. He’s not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing,” said Ward.

This story is going to run and run over the summer.

***UPDATE***

Aidy Ward has since come out and denied making the comments and is reportedly taking legal advice on the matter.
