Reckon there’s a new life for Fergie Down Under? Here’s the odds

While some still hold out hopes that Alex Ferguson might take on the Irish, there is a market on a possible new life Down Under for the former Manchester United supremo.

While some still hold out hopes that Alex Ferguson might take on the Irish, there is a market on a possible new life Down Under for the former Manchester United supremo.

It is the season for international managerial vacancies. Croatia and Poland gave their men the push this week, and as we know the Irish job has been available for quite a while now.

There’s a similar situation going in in Australia, who told Holger Osieck to take a hike after losing two games 6-0 back to back, to Brazil and France last week. That’s despite qualifying the Socceroos for the World Cup next year.

So who’s going to step in to that seat? Former Australian stopper Mark Bosnich fancied his old gaffer at Old Trafford, Alex Ferguson, to take over for the World Cup, but what are the chances of that happening?

Well, according to Ladbrokes, Fergie is 50/1 to take the Aussie job (he’s 40/1 for the Ireland job if you are wondering) and the bookie also decided to have a bit of fun with some other potential Aussie-based Fergie bets such as;

Alex Ferguson to become a citizen of Australia 500/1
Alex Ferguson to name one of his horses with the word ‘Australia’ in it 10/1
Alex Ferguson to be spotted eating a Kangaroo Burger anywhere in the UK before the end of 2013 8/1
Alex Ferguson to be spotted drinking a pint of Fosters beer anywhere in the UK before the end of 2013 2/1
Alex Ferguson to be spotting riding a Kangaroo before the end of 2013 100/1
Alex Ferguson to open an Australian-themed restaurant anywhere in the UK 100/1
Alex Ferguson to appear in this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 500/1

While we would love to see Fergie do a Bushtucker Trial, we reckon Bosnich is a much more likely candidate for the reality show, don’t you?
