REPORTS: Jose Mourinho has signed a pre contract with Manchester United

The Special One looks set for Old Trafford.

The worst kept secret in football is all but confirmed after various reports emerged last night stating that Jose Mourinho has signed a pre contract with Manchester United. It seems that United are in a rush to get the former Porto, Chelsea and Real Madrid coach appointed as Spanish newspaper El País have claimed that The Special One will receive £15m if he is not appointed by June 1st.

Mourinho hasn’t exactly hidden his admiration for Manchester United in the past – he practically begged for the position when his Real Madrid side knocked United out of the Champions League – and a source within Jorge Mendes’ (Mourinho’s agent) company stated that “If United do not sign the final contract [with Mourinho] before 1 May, they must pay £5m; if by 1 June he’s still not signed, they shall pay another £10m. May is the key, because it’s the month in which the vast majority of the signings of players are closed and the plans formed.”.

Since his sacking by Chelsea in December, The Special One has been cryptic about his next destination but it seems that he’s about to take over from Louis Van Gaal and that he’s in a hurry to get fresh faces into the club.
