As inevitable as night following day. Well-deserved Rory.

As inevitable as night following day. Well-deserved Rory.

The Holywood native was included in a list of ten nominations announced by the BBC this evening alongside the likes of Carl Froch, Gareth Bale and Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton.

After two major victories and his contribution to Europe’s Ryder Cup win at Gleneagles amongst many other achievements in 2014, McIlroy is in with an excellent shout of landing the SPOTY gong and is the bookies’ favourite to do so.

He gets our vote.
