What a signing

What a signing this is.

Shamrock Rovers have taken to Twitter this evening to officially unveil their new signing, Premier League winner Damien Duff.

St. Pats’ had been hopeful of winning the Ballyboden man’s signature, but it seems that Duff has opted for the club a few miles closer to home.

Duff, who has most recently been plying his trade for Melbourne City in Australia’s A-League, is undoubtedly one of the biggest names to ever play in the League of Ireland.

Snapped up by Blackburn as a youth player, Duff has never played for a League of Ireland team before.

In the tweets shared by Shamrock Rovers, he seems pleased to be making his first foray into the Airtricity League as part of ‘the biggest club in the country’.

Duff, who has made exactly 100 appearances for the Republic of Ireland, will give Rovers a much needed boost as they look to narrow the gap between themselves and league leaders Dundalk and progress through the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.
