Sky are about to make it much easier to watch football online

Paul Moore

This could be a lifesaver.

The Premier League season is set to kick-off on August 13th and Sky have a preseason treat in store for football fans because they’ve just announced that they’re going to provide UK & Irish football fans with real-time video clips on their mobile devices.

If you happen to be away from your TV or laptop, Sky will now be showing all the goals and key moments from every Premier League game that they’re broadcasting during the season. All of these highlights will be available through Twitter via @SkyFootball.

On the Sky Sports Football Score Centre app, there will be more clips from every match shown. App users will also have full highlights of all Premier League and Football League games every match day, including games shown on BT Sport, available after the final whistle.

The clips will be made available through Twitter Amplify, an initiative that unites broadcasters and advertisers to deliver high-quality, branded video content directly into people’s timelines.

Twitter users and Sky Sports subscribers in Ireland will also be able to see video content in real time from the Saturday 3pm games, which are traditionally not shown on TV.
