Someone bid £100,000 for Eddie Jordan’s shirt… seriously

To some, he is a man worthy enough to be on an alternative presidential election poll, to others, he’s a prat who wears stupid shirts – it’s Eddie Jordan.

JOE

To some, he is a man worthy enough to be on an alternative presidential election poll, to others, he’s a prat who wears stupid shirts – it’s Eddie Jordan.

Ah Eddie. There’s a lot to be said about the man. Then again, there is a lot about him you wouldn’t want to hear. Whatever way you look at it, he’s Irish and he’s made a name for himself over the years, so be proud.

He’s in the news this time because the shirt he wore to the Indian Grand Prix is currently being auctioned off for charity, BBC Children in Need to be exact. If you’re thinking of making a bid for it then head on over to eBay now, before it’s too late. Oh, you’d want to have €120,000 to burn in order to be in with a sniff.

Here is what it says on the BBC’s eBay site: “The BBC Formula One team have kindly donated the famous kurta shirt that Eddie Jordan wore on BBC One at the first Indian Grand Prix on 30 October 2011.

“The winner will also receive a DVD copy of the BBC’s coverage of the Indian Grand Prix race, which shows Eddie wearing the shirt, and the BBC F1 Forum.

“Eddie’s shirt trended second in the world on twitter on the race weekend, the lucky winner of the shirt really will be the talk of the world!

“Every single penny raised by the auction will go towards making a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK. Thank you for supporting BBC Children in Need.”

So, your shirt will smell like Eddie Jordan in the Indian sunshine and will have scrawled signatures from a few of F1’s biggest names mucking it up. Would you bother?

Ah well, it is for charity after all.
