Take a look at how much Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard are earning in the MLS

Kaka must be pretty happy with himself

Kaka must be pretty happy with himself

I’d wager that interest in the MLS is arguably at its highest ever level because the league has seen a flurry of new arrivals in recent months, obviously some are more bearded and mantastic than others (sorry Stevie G but Pirlo is Pirlo)

Frank Lampard and David Villa have also arrived in the US to help turn New York City into title contenders but Ireland’s captain can show that he has the MLS winners medal to back up his hefty salary, according to these yearly figures released by the MLS.

The LA Galaxy skipper will earn $4.5m this season but Kaka is still the highest earning player in the league, the Brazilian will make $7,167,500m with Orlando City while former Juve playmaker Sebastian Giovinco, now of Toronto,  is narrowly behind him in second.

Steven Gerarrd isn’t doing too badly for himself, the Liverpool legend is pocketing $6,332,504 while Frank Lampard will be taking home a cool $6m.

What’s surprising though is how low Pirlo’s wages are, relative to some of the other people mentioned above of course.

The Italian playmaker is earning slightly above $2m but that’s almost $5.1m less than Kaka. We’re not impressed.
