The great and the good of the rugby world and some special guests gathered in Cork last night to pay tribute to a Munster and Ireland legend. From what we can tell, it was a cracking night.
Former team-mates of O’Gara such as Brian O’Driscoll, Paul O’Connell, Peter Clohessy and John Hayes were amongst the 800+ guests at Cork’s City Hall last night, alongside local hero Roy Keane, George Hook, Mario Rosenstock and Fianna Fail leader Michael Martin.
Money raised from the black tie event went towards a number of charities including Cork University Hospital, Crumlin Medical Research Foundation and the Donal Walsh #Livelife Foundation and while tributes for one of Ireland’s best ever out-halves rightly flowed all night, the current Racing Metro coach came in for a fair bit of slagging as well by all accounts.
Here are some of the best tweets sent by those fortunate enough to be in attendance.
