There’s one pretty big omission from the GAA’s Gaelic Football Team of Year

The man we’re referring to, is, of course, Diarmuid Connolly, who despite being selected as Footballer of the Year by a number of Sunday Game pundits on Sunday night, has been omitted from the GAA’s Gaelic Football Team of the Year today.

Connolly’s exclusion is one of a number of controversial calls in the GAA’s XV, others being the omission of Donegal’s Paul Durcan, Mayo’s Colm Boyle, Kerry’s David Moran and the inclusion of Michael Murphy at midfield rather than somewhere in the forwards.

In fairness to the GAA here, these type of selections are always going to attract debate and it’s rare that everyone’s going to agree; you can read more about the reasons for their selection here and if you want to further debate the XV, feel free to do so in the comment box below. But please, keep it clean folks.
